Linda Doyle
I am the Director of CTVR and an Associate Professor in Trinity College Dublin. I work with a team of researchers here in Trinity. We focus on cognitive radio, reconfigurable networks, dynamic spectrum access, spectrum management regimes and spectrum policy. We have a very large interest in experimental work and pride ourselves on taking our ideas from concept to prototype. Our group also includes a number of researchers who focus on art and technology related research. We work closely with our colleague Luiz DaSilva who is also based in Trinity as well as with all the other members of CTVR.
CTVR Research Focus
We bring the service and technology mindset to bear on creating evolvable, submissive and sustainable networks within CTVR. We are interested in physical layer issues and interference management in self-architecting and self-planning wireless systems (in dense small-cell networks, in sparse large networks and in distributed topologies). We are particularly focused on creating radios that are cognisant of their hardware capabilities and limitations and how we can best adapt signal processing algorithms to make best use of the hardware. Our experience in cognitive radio experimentation underpins what we do and is very much in line with the CTVR ethos of theorise, simulate and build.
