This evening event is the second in a series inspired by the Eames’ film A Communications Primer (1953), inviting lively discussion about contemporary understanding of communication & design, questioning how we communicate complexity, and how we design for communication.
The unique Eames’ film A Communications Primer (1953) is particularly important for the way that it articulates an extraordinary insight into contemporary telecommunications, illustrating powerful concepts that remain important to the work of engineers and designers today. This film is relevant to anyone who uses information and communications technology in their day-to-day lives, whether professionally or otherwise.
The evening will be introduced by Jessica Foley, artist & Outreach person at CTVR, followed by short responsive and contextualizing presentations by Gary Boyd, Senior Lecturer at the Centre for Architectural Education UCC, and Linda Doyle, Director CTVR and Associate Professor in the School of Engineering, TCD. The evening will be chaired by Denis Linehan, Lecturer at the College of Arts, Celtic Studies & Social Sciences, UCC.
