How do we design telecommunication networks to deal with the rapidly changing world in which we live?
CTVR aims to create optical and wireless networks that are evolvable, submissive and sustainable. These networks will call for technologies that are highly flexible and adaptive. To understand what the technologies must be capable of a network perspective is needed; to understand what the network is capable of a technologies perspective is needed.
This network & technology focus is central to CTVR. As well as examining the technologies and networks in each of the wireless and optical domains we are exploring the optical-wireless interface. Our work is undertaken in the contexts of an architecture and an awareness of the emerging network architectures and application trends. The latter is driven by CTVR’s extensive interactions and collaborations with other academic parties and industry groups.
The work programme consists of tasks in the areas of:
- Wireless Networks
- Wireless Technologies
- Optical Networks
- Optical Technologies
- Optical & Wireless Technologies
